Fuel door curve

My fuel door has a lot more curve to it than the quarter panel does. Is this common? The quarter is all original. The door is cast pot metal I think. I can't imagine that either has been changed from stock. I mean, there is a small dent on the belt line and I filled the US side marker light and I have a J1772 plug instead of a fuel filler but none of that should have any material impact on the curves. What am I missing here?

Agree, I would find it very strange if your quarterpanel would have deformed soo much due to welding. It has to much shape pressed into it. Also the fuel door opening has this ridge , it makes it quite rigid.

Fuel door had a bump I think.

to be able to decide who is misbehaving (fuel door or quarter panel) you could measure the curve of the QP and compare it to the other side.
Does require one of these things:

Given the size of the gap when closed, I'd also say it's bent and needs to be flattened a bit

OK. Thanks all. @sfdon I appreciate the offer to borrow a door but bolting these suckers in with those tiny nuts through those improperly aligned holes in the rubber boot is one of my least favorite fiddly jobs. Easier to just flatten mine back to match the panel. Always scary to see panel fitters take 2x4s to hoods and deck lids, etc. Thought better to ask first. I hope it doesn't protest the electrification again ;-).
