Just got my coupe of a 3 month+ hibernation. While I was letting the car run (70 2800CS, dual weber 32/36), it stopped idling and shut off. It took a bit more effort than usual to restart it, and this problem persisted the whole time I was driving it. When I stopped at a light and the car was idling, it would die, then hard restart, etc. I am thinking it may be a fuel delivery problem, dirt in the screen or the pump itself.

My question is, is the fuel pump interchangeable with any other models, specifically a 2002?

For some reason I cannot cross reference on RealOEM.

Thanks,

nf

If the webers have an idle solenoids, wires, and a fuse. I'd check that first.

Low carb fuel level would be next.

Clean the screen in the tank and if there's one in the pump. Clean or replace your filter.

Tighten the pump to make sure it's not a bit loose.

Test the volume of the pump- one hose in a container. Should get a good squirt.

The pumps look similar depending on the manufacturer. Someone else that's had both in hand and knows what volume there is can answer that better.

An electric pump is an alternate. Usually less than $50.
