Fuel tank cross reference?

Will the three e9 fuel tanks cross fit all all versions with respect to mounting in the body? How about fuel pickup/gauge sending unit mounting and filler attachment? Which ones are actually still available?

I believe BMW changed from top-mount tanks to bottom-mount in '74. I retrofitted the FI system from a '75 CSI into my '74 CS and the fuel tank from the CSI fits into the '74 (both are bottom-mounts) but the CSI tank has more capacity (it's taller than the CS tank.) I would presume the 2800s used the smaller capacity tank. HTH.
