Fuel Tank Gaskets

Hey guys,

I had to have my tank redone and had some trouble tracking down the original BMW gaskets. I actually found the following gaskets at McMaster-Carr and they fit the CSi tank well:

1. 9262K825 - O-Ring, Buna-N, 4mm Wide, 58mm ID
2. 9262K396 - O-Ring, Buna-N, 5mm Wide, 100mm ID

I had this same problem, and the ring I first bought that was supposed to be a BMW part. It didn't fit tightly. It measured 3.5 mm x 56 mm.

I just bought a 4mm x 60mm Viton o-ring from "Orings and more" and installed it in my car. My research indicated Viton was preferable to BunaN for an application where gasoline was involved, so I laid out the extra cashola for Viton.

Hey Gary! I'm Evan, down in Midtown. Just bought a '72 silver euro project from a gentlemen down in Lithonia. It's currently at the upholstery shop getting a complete new interior.

I'm still trying to find a local guy that can re-venner the wood pieces, as they're FAR gone.
