FUSE BOX

I've been thinking about installing one. But I would buy it from the manufacturer. Is Max adding tariffs on domestic parts? Oops wrong thread. ;)

Yeah, that is a very nicely made product. I've thought about it too.

Obviously I just did the conversion on my wiring harness. High quality part.

I bought mine direct from HGL.

I understand originality Breiti sure. But personally, I'm fine with upgrading to a better setup with more widely available, possibly safer, fuses. Plus mine had obviously had a couple of "incidents".

The Holy Grail fusebox was written up by Paul Cain some time ago. I bought one and can see the green lights indicating all circuits are powered up. If a fuse blows,a red indicator light shows the failed circuit.. Excellent customer service from Holy Grail Labs, also.

I feel, there Erik be a lot of original fuse boxes on the marketin a while....

I love to stay original.
Runs over 50 years, why changing a running system.

My 5 cent ( + tariff )

Having seen the damage electrical fires can do, I'd much rather a modern fusebox that also bins the terrible torpedo fuses. Cheap insurance that doesn't affect the car visually other than when you've dropped the glovebox down. Indicator light is also a nice touch. Had I not have gone for a completely custom harness this definitely would have been something to fit

I have seen a lot of burned modern electric distributors / fuse boxes with that modern electronic with those ultra thin layers of copper.....

I have never seen e electric burn due to a old style fuse box.

??

I beg to differ.

So says the electrical issue that went on with mine and the melted defroster vent that went with it. Not under my watch mind you and who knows what the heck the PO did to cause this.

There’s the reason the old style fuses were discontinued in modern automotive manufacturing.

Well no, you wouldn't. Electrical things burn when too much current passes through them, creating heat. The issue with torpedo fuses isn't too much current - it's too little. The *&^% things just stop passing current as they corrode, or the brass contacts lose clamping force.

Modern fuses get you greater reliability, not better fire prevention.
