Can someone explain why the rear quarters are removed during a restoration? It seams like the rear wells are accessible with the quarter panels in place. What are the main benefits. I plan to remove my front fenders, but I much prefer to leave the back half of the body intact.

I believe this particular car had rear-end damage. You should allow your creativity to lead your way...it will be apparent what can/can't be done with quarters on.

Its the best way to do a well repair or replacement. It can however be done without taking the qtrs off.
