Does anyone know what the value of this transmission is?
It is in good condition. I hear they are pretty rare.

Thanks,

You could probably get a good answer on a forum for E30 M-3s as I would guess these trans are in demand for those folks.

You might also give Metric Mechanic a call. Number is on their website, just Google metric mechanic and it'll pull up. Sorry I dont have the info. Dave V. in NC

I have a very qualified rebuilder for these, parts are PRICEY, and the last few cost me 1800 - 2200 to have rebuilt . .

I advise that you install it and run it to determine condition, these have a reputation for failing and or wearing out . . but I can't say I agree . . I have bought many a tired E24 635CSi with this box, just for the box . . and all have been good.

If it's good, it's worth anywhere from $1200 up, but the market is not that strong . .

E30 M3 folks don't want them as they need to then buy a diff . . adding another big expense . . there are not alot of 3.45 or 3.64 LSD diffs to be found. The stock 3.25 makes the car to slow for most in the US.

Professionally rebuilt: $1500

Proven OK condition: about $500

I got a 265 standard ratio for $200, and passed on the CR from the same guy at $300.

Used transmissions are just not that good a buy because you have no idea how long they will last.

However, if you are local to the west coast I will up Velocewest's offer to get it out of your garage: $300.
