http://westslope.craigslist.org/cto/1773912932.html You have to take the whole parts car to get the gear box. 82 E28's continued to use the getrag 265 as a carry over from 80-81 E12 528i. Since the 82 E28 in the US market came only with a M20 motor, you have to swap out the bell housing that's on the gearbox in this car and use the bell housing from a 4 or 5 speed gearbox used on a M30 motor. Ad says Or Best Offer, make an offer. If the car still runs, you can test out the gearbox..., if not, I bet the M20 timing belt broke.
