We have been getting many requests for this shift tower. We should have some in production by the end of this month. Thanks to @sfdon and @BarneyT for doing the final test fittings and their suggestions for improving the design.
If you would like to get on the list for one of these, please post on this thread so I can keep track of the requests.

an image of the part itself would help to identify what exactly you are offering, IMHO

Thanks !

Good idea. We have gone through several iterations of prototyping with our designers/users/manufacturers over the last year or so (which is rather quick progress for a very small company @Thomas76) and I don't have a final version to show yet, but here are a couple of pics of the part we are working on. I made several adjustments after installing the prototype on my own '74 CS just last month and these will show up in the final product.
I apologize for the extended development time, but, as anyone knows who has bought any of our products, we make world class, vintage BMW specific products, not cheap generic parts.

Will there be a slight tweak to the original in that I think (correct me if I'm wrong) that G265 installs usually end up with the shifter slightly cockeyed to the left, making it hard to put in REV?

I hadn’t heard that. Is this the result of using the 265 bellhousing? The front portion of a 265 case is a 262, so the only thing that could change the orientation of the shifter is the bell housing alignment, or perhaps the overall length of the case amplifying any alignment issues.

I don't have any feedback that the orientation of the G265 would cause any problem shifting into reverse except that the shift lever can hit the surrounding console and make it harder to get into gear. I can say that the clevis fork on the rod that connects to the transmission input shaft has very tight tolerances to the inside top of the shift tower. I've done test fittings with the OEM shift rod and DSSRs, and both have clearance issues in reverse and fifth. Some folks have the problem, some don't. So, we solved that problem by creating an opening in that area to eliminate any possibility of interference.

I did no thave this or 5th gear issue, perhaps because I used a 320i lower lever to make it a slightly shorter throw, and it works great with plenty of room to spare vs the console.
