Getrag 5 speed

I think Hal may be referring to the speedo drive, that is documented here as well. You can use the four speed output gear but have to make sure the gear on the tail shaft is there or find one and install it.
 
I wasn't really sure if this was even a standard replacement transmission for the M30 equipped cars since it references an "E30 M3" as the donor. But I am saving all my trashed Getrag 242s from the '02s just to get the drive gear!
 
You can get a GPS adapter to run your mech speedo, or just harvest the drive/gear from your 242 four-speed.
