Glove box latch attachment question

Discovered that my glove box latch was not mounted in the factory location, but rather via a single newly drilled hole above the original pair of holes. I assume there were once captive nuts in those holes, but can’t find a photo. Before I make a new plan, does anyone know what I should be looking for?

They are 2 floating captive nuts I would very carefully retap the threads on both The screws ( I think ) are pan head 5mm X .8 mm Philips head
To replace the 2 nuts would be quite difficult to do See if someone has an old glove box with the padding coming off so you could have a look

Thanks, Rick

....at least on my glovebox these nuts are fixed, welded on the metal corpus, deep inside, therefore not visible.
The bracket has longholes for adjustment .
