Can someone tell me if there is a bracket that holds the switch for the glove box light.
I sure can't see one in the parts diagram.
It would be to the left side and would hold the switch in a position so when the glove box closes the side of the box would contact the switch and turn off the light.
I removed my glove box back last summer and have been doing some repair work to it. I have the switch just hanging there but no place to mount or hold it.

Thanks,
Gary

Yes, see photo.

Yes, see photo.

Thanks so much Andrew.
Do you have a photo from further back so I can see where it is located.
I didn't think of it attaching to the box. I thought it would attach under the dash somewhere.
I can easily make a bracket like that.

Are you guys coming to The Vintage again this year?
I hope to bring my coupe if I can get the front suspension rebuilt and repair two half shaft seals that are cracked.

Thanks for your help.

Gary

Position the switch so it hits the outer edge of the glove box when it's closed.

Hope this pic helps, not easy to photograph.

I am going to The Vintage.

Thanks guys I got it now.
I see it is mounted to the console area.
I went and looked at the glovebox tonight and found no holes for the bracket. Heck, I even found the bracket.
From the first photo it looked like it was mounted on the box itself.

Now I can put the glove box back for the first time in 7 months.
Yeah, one down and 856 to go.

Glad you are going to The Vintage again Andrew. Now if I could get Steve to trailer to my house then drive to The Vintage we would have another coupe.
Thanks again guys.

Gary,

glad you found it. i went looking for it, took a bunch of pics - that were all not conclusive - the bracket was hiding the button. i was going to look again tomorrow.

Both you and Scott have kindly offered the hospitality, I'd love to do it but it is such a long drive for a weekend and I am not the willing road warrior I used to be :| Would love to drive my coupe with you guys to the Vintage though. Someday...

That's fine Scott I thought you might be on another one of your world tours so I thought I would see if anyone knew this right off and they did.

I know about those long road trips. 10 hours in any car is not my idea of a way to spend the day. Now if I could take two days to drive that 10 hours then that would be different. Hopefully next year you both will go.
It really is a lot of fun. I think there must have been 8 coupes there last year. I bet Andrew has the count?

Thanks again guys.
