would someone with an intact glovebox light pls snap a quick picture and post here - the back of my glovebox has been cut out (to accommodate the motronic brain) and i suspect that is where the light used to mount, but would like to see exactly how, so can figure out how/where to remount.

thnks much!

I have to ask - who did your motronics install? It a shame they had to cut the glove box. There are several places that it can mounted without having to cutt anything..

Talking of Motronic box placement.
Where do you put if if you don´t want to cut anywhere?

The garage, in Southern CA, that installed mine, cut a 2" hole so they didn´t have to undo the wire couplers. They forgot to install a rubber seal, so that engine noise in the cabin was terrible. They left the box hanging in front of the passengers footwell.

On my more recent engine conversions we use modern FI and associated management, all concealed so that nothing shows. No drilling of 2" holes in the firewall !!

ECU location

ECU under the front seat - dry warm and protected. everything through A/C holes but some of this could come through frame rails.

thnks

thnks stevehose for the pic - one last question: is the little fixture just press-fit into opening?

re ecu in cut glovebox question - im now asking same question pmansson is, cuz coupeking did my car too (assume thats who he was talking about as well??).

love the under the seat install, very clean.

Motronic fitment without glovebox cutting

I fit my box directly to the underside of the metal part of the dash, just above the glovebox to the far right. There was an asymmetrical, indented area that just fit the Motronic module and the wiring harness. I first Guerilla-glued a few small wooden pieces to the metal, then pre-drilled holes and attached the Motronic module nice and snug onto the wood support pieces. The fit was perfect and didn't require any cutting of the glovebox -- although I didn't know that until I had the glovebox reinstalled.

I think the 2 best places the ecu is perhaps under the seat or under the dash. La jolla did mine and asked that I remove the glove box before the car came in for the conversion. This made it very easy for them to mount it without much work. When the car came back home, I re-installed the box with no adjustments or cutting.
