Nearly every coupe I have seen seems to have real problems with the glovebox staying shut. In my yellow csl if you hit a bit of bumpy road at all it comes open. I keep moving the catch out a bit thinking it will work everytime but it persists. Anyone else notice this?

Some of the problem is caused by the hinge mechanism being on the fragile side. I noticed that the plastic "bushes" in mine are worn out and the spring is somewhat weak.
Thus the catch moves about...
No doubt the plastic bushes are NLA, I intend to make new ones out of nylon once I get to that point

yeah mine pops open all the time, usually whacking my girlfriend in the shins! Just one more reason why she loves my "stupid old" car...

I had the same problem - it turned out to be that the roll pin that acts as a pivot for the catch elongated the hole it was in and worked it's way out causing the catch to become unaligned. A little epoxy fixed it.
