I think this might be a New Coke / Coke Classic kind of moment. I can't see lower case letters being anything to covet.
Perhaps this logo has more appeal in the Chinese market? I doubt I will ever buy a GM car by the way they shook down the Canadian taxpayer then bolted after the bailout. We gave em more per capita than the US. Although if they came out with a new Corvair....maybe I'd pretend I never said that.

gm: A 1000 HP, crab crawling, 0-60 in 3 seconds, roof removing pick up with a 350 mile range....I’m swiping plastic. No matter the logo.

We were a GM family family for 22 years 1976-1998. When our 1990, 1996, & 1998 all had water leaks & '96 & '98 had broken welds. Which, while under warranty Chevrolet said welds were NOT covered by their bumper to bumper warranty. My wife responded,"If you don't have good welds you do not have a car." When I bought my 1997 BMW M3 in December 2001, GMAC called & asked why I did not lease another Chevrolet. "I bought a BMW M3" then the called promptly hung up on me.

As a retired graphic designer, these GM & the BMW logos are all marketing hype & change for the sake of change. At the same time "the times, they are a changin'" That being said, we as older BMW aficionados, are not the target audience for the new GM & BMW cars. Only the BMW M2CS sparks some interest for me. https://www.bmwusa.com/limited-edition-vehicles/m2-cs.html

I like that M2 as well. 400 HP kinda scares me though.

The M2CS sure has all the right bits of kit! Throwing on some proper tires, looks like a fun track day car.

I was a GM buyer for the first ten years of the car buying portion of my life, until I bought a lemon they would not make right. Yeah, they made a profit on the sale of that Buick, but I've been buying cars from their competition for 35 years now.

As to the logo, I continue to be amazed at the time and energy some of the most highly paid executives at massive global businesses spend on "branding." Do they really not have more important things to do (like, say, fixing quality control)?

Has anyone looked closely at the Mig welds on a Coupe? A lot on mine just looks like someone was using a Glue Gun.
