Every year on January 1, we do a rally around the north Bay of San Francisco. It takes determination of steel to get up at 5 AM and brave the cold road before 6. (I swear, I will fix that heater someday real soon). But it's always worth it...

Beautiful pictures.
I don’t have my E9 finished yet so I don’t have a jan 1st photo of it
But here’s one taken today at the beach instead
Hopefully this time next year the photo might have an E9 in it at the beach also
Happy 2025 !!!

Paint looks particularly great in your photo.

One thing that catches my eye, -unless I'm mistaken, is that your driver's and passenger's side mirrors appear to be in different alignments. Assuming that that was purposeful, how did you come to that choice?

Excellent observation and question. IMHO it makes total sense for the passenger side to be more forward than driver side because what should be matched is the angles between the driver and the mirrors. If the driver sat above the parking brake the angles would be the same... but the parking brake in his butt would be uncomfortable....

If you mean different positions on the doors, that is correct. I positioned them specifically where they would be best seen from my vantage point while driving. The driver side one is as far forward as possible without being obstructed by the side window post. On the passenger side I could put it forward of that post and still have unobstructed view of it
