Hey all,

Here in the UK Classic and Sportscar magazine features a beautiful silver E9 CSL on it's front cover as the main item. Inside the article talks about the epic rise of CSL's and CSi's in terms of value in the UK.

Anyone seen this?

3.0 CSL carburettor Inka

Great story in C&S.
There are also CSL's in the German magazin Motor Klassik. In the magazin nr 11 of 2007 there's a extensive story about a Inka 3.0CSL carburettor 1972 s/n 2211723, a beautiful car.
Another story is in magazin nr 1 2009 about a comparisation between a yellow 3.0 CSL injection, Ford Capri RS2600 and a Porsche carrera RS. Indeed a spectacular story!

Talking about coupe coverage in magazines --- does anyone know what issue  of “Road & Track” was the one that Sam Posey wrote about trying to keep up Hans Stuck in the factory race cars ? That issue was some 30 plus years ago so I know I’m asking for a lot on this one. Thanks :-D ~ John Buchtenkirch

Going around the Ring

Also a good driver!!--and seems to know the Ring pretty well--maybe almost as well as the "Queen of the Ring"--the one who drives the fastest taxi in the world--as she scares her paying passengers silly--in her M-5 !!

Sabine Schmitz

Still, interesting question: When it comes to the ring in a BMW, Stuck and Schmitz both are very much in a class of their own. I wonder who would actually be quicker...

Quickest around the 'Ring, funny you should ask...

Was killing time and read a recent car mag article (R&T? Car & Driver?) about what type of driver is fastest: F1, Nascar, Tourring car or Rally?

Well, a new production car lap record arounf the Ring has been set by a former WRC Rally driver (Fininsh of course!) in a Subaru STI. Ready for this.....a 7:55!!

The interview stated the Fininsh driver had only done 15-20 laps of the 'Ring in his life, and it was the weekend of the test. 10 or so laps to learn/feel the course, then 10 or so to learn/master the new car he had never driver before.....sheesh!, cajones grandes!

...now I am gonna kick my son off the video game...soon I hope to get that '66 427 Cobra (my flying brick!) under a 9:30! maybe a proper wheel instead of a joystick will help! Its hilarious banging doors around the Ring in two vintage Cobras with an 8yr old!

Ok everyone , back to work now....;-)
Happy Friday
