My switch had to have one contact pin soldered and this resulted in partly invisible readings on the bottom plate.
I have 2 pins marked S along the outside, and then the middle pin and a third one along the outside. The latter two, I cannot identify.

On the wiring diagram, it says that the grey/violet wire goes to S, the two brown, connected cables to 31 (centre or outside location???) and the three, connected red/grey cables to a plus (?? or whatever it says on the wiring diagram).

The question then is: do the brown ones go to the central pin or the third borderpin (not one of the two marked S)
and likewise with the three red/grey cables: central pin or one on the border??

Thanks,
Peder M

PS: I ordered the large, laminated wiring diagram a while back, but haven´t received it yet.

Hi Peder - If you have the orange rear de-mist button, you can look at it for a reference, as the wiring is very similar.

Got the contacts connected properly. The little lamp in the green pushbuttom lights when button is pushed/released BUT the rear fog light doesn´t work (and it´s not the bulb or contacts.....???)
I haven´t tried a different green switch yet....

This switch is very simple. Basically the center pin is ground (for the light). When the switch is pushed in the three outer pins are all isolated. When the switch is out all three outer pins are connected; and the light +12 input is connected to the three outer pins as well (makes the light come on). Basically, one of the outer pins (doesn't matter which) gets +12 and when the switch is release the +12 is passed to the other pins to enable the load. I took my switch apart to learn this. It is easy to do and you can clean the contacts.

Since the light is coming on, you have +12 and ground. If you have ground (brown - maybe dual wires because ground is cascaded) on the center pin then your wiring can't be wrong. If memory serves, the +12 comes from the light switch - you must have the lights on to activate the fog lights (lamp coming on is a good indicator). Most likely you have a broken wire to the fog light or the fog light isn't grounded. When the switch is on you should see +12 on all the outer contacts. You should also see also see +12 at the fog light (this should be the grey / violet stripe wire).

Being my usual anal self, I re-wired my system with relays and in-line circuit breakers when I added front fog lights.
