Became a member fairly recently, but entirely E9-less at the moment. I had a 73 CS some years back (2000-05). Stumbled across a pretty car when I moved to Denver and needed something with 4 wheels out of concern for motorcycles tipping over in snow and ice. My wife was convinced by the prettiness, but I bought a used Subaru shortly after my first attempt to commute on a snowy day. Subsequent move to NYC forced a sale and much regret. Now back in Denver where parking spaces run considerably less than $400/mo which makes coupe ownership appealing again.
So now I'm on the lookout for a nice E9, nothing concourse and with little concern for stark originality. Would love to get a driver, possibly with some modern upgrades (5 speed, FI, etc), rust limited to non-structural components.
What I've seen so far seems to be either out of my price range (or ridiculously over priced) or more of a project than I can handle. I'm sure I am not the only one with such a complaint!
Anyone know the car for sale in Dallas on ebay?

http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1973...rs_Trucks&hash=item3f203e62ad#ht_37396wt_1161

It has been listed a couple of times and looks fairly solid, but not nearly as rust-free as a 2006 bare metal restoration should be...
Thoughts on what this car should sell for?
What does an automatic to manual conversion typically cost?

Any help or advice is more than welcome.

Missing tool kit and trunk lid panels, bad elephant skin, trunk carpet, no three part storage bin. Trunk seems to be a problem area.
I don't claim to know about these things, but should the black paint on the undercarriage raise some concerns?

E9 in Denver

I have a contact in Denver that has a very nice E9 for sale, expensive but well worth it. Definitely a fine car, totally restored. Let me know if you are interested and want to contact the owner.

The Texas car sounds a little tired when they gun it. No photos of the important areas. Looks nice though.
