I guess everyone knows
but i just pulled the aluminum from the grilles and
sent then to the polisher
--- brand new grilles for pennies.
 
Think Alan is referring to the l/r headlight grills. More details please...cost, where, process? Thanks!

note mine were the 74 grillles

I took tHe headlight grills in to have speedway polish the bright work. By center you must be referring to a kidney grill. Dan at Speedway has a black ceramic paint that he can use to paint the slats, they wouldn't be anodized but the process would yield similar cosmetic results.
 
I removed the slats from the kidney grill and sent it to Speedway for polishing and ceramic coat. I used brass (bronze?) wool on the slats and painted with SEM black. They came out nice.

OCC - did you remove the metal trim from the headlight grills or bring the whole piece?
