The only H rated 215-60x14 tires I can find are Riken. Does anyone have any experience with Riken? I know they are associated with Michelin/BFG. They are going to replace BFG Comp TA tires so I would like something comparable.

I have Falken tires on both my 2002 and CS.
They have worked great for me. I have had them on the 2002 for several years now and selected tires for my coupe based on that.

They have the ZE-512 in the size you note....
Try finding them at http://www.discounttire.com

Ahhh - scratch that... I had your size as 205... Not 215.
Still - I still recommend the Falken's if you choose to go to 205's.

Michelin XWX 205/70 VR 14. Terrific tyres with the correct period look (vs modern rubber bands on obscene wheels, which are easily damaged on parking manouevres).
They are actually slightly larger than the specified 195/70 which Michelin stopped making in 1996.

I appreciate all the responses but I want 215-60x14 tires in at least an H rated tire. When I look up the Falken, it states not in stock and Toyo does not have my size.

The only other tire I have found in my size is a BFG radial TA but it is a S rated tire. I don't trust that. It looks like I may have to gamble on the Riken if no one has any experience with them. I don't have to have period correct. I just want them to perform well.

Just want to add for the ones looking for tyres in the E9 original dimensions, that an interesting alternative for the E9 coupes could be the Fulda Classic line tyre "Carat Assuro" 195/70/VR14. A modern technology tyre in at least the correct E9 dimensions and for a reasonable price. Of course, it also exists without the white text.

On the other hand, the Michelin XWX 205/70/VT14 might be as close as possible, to the original E9 tyre, one could find nowadays.

Cheers

and the overall dimensions of the 205 XWX is exactly the same as the 195 XWX which was terminated in 1996. Don´t know why, but the Longstone guys looked in an old broschure and confirmed this.

Thanks for the link pmansson. I will save it, and probably need it within the year.

I consider that the best looking tyres , and best performance, for original 195/70/ R14 is the vredestein sprint classic, is simply the best, but maybe a little expensive compared to others,

see this photo looking for reasons

14" 70 series performance tires are going the way of the dinosaur in the US market. Plenty of H and V rated 195/70-14 tires in the Euro market but they have disappeared in the US market.

I have no experience with Riken but I know a place I get them (215/60-14 H rated) out the door for 73.00/each and that's here in CA.
Riken is a subsidiary of Michelin.

G-Man, I can get them at Phillips Tire for $100 each with mounting, balancing, taxes, etc. Would you share where you can get them for $73? I am interested if it is anywhere near Costa Mesa.

I just love the look of Michelin XWX xxx/70 VR 14. So totally period correct :)
