After considerable discussion with Haggerty Canada, including lots of photos, they have agreed to insure my 73 CS for $89,4 (c). They are also offering something called “cherished salvage“ for an additional $65.

Given that the car is never a daily driver, is the additional coverage necessary/desirable?
I welcome your sage comments.

Cheers

I don't think "cherished salvage" is worth it. Ask them if you do total the car and want to buy it back, what would they charge? Also in Ma, a totaled car over 10 years old does not receive a salvaged title if you buy it back. Not sure what is presented in Carfax though.

Many thanks. It all started with my concern that my car was under insured at $50k (C).I’m the original owner, and it’s had a bare metal restoration.

I asked what a good to excellent CS was being insured for, they told me the average was 110k US and did not think twice when I said to increase to that. Was little money also, like 50 bucks more going from 50 to 110K.

Thanks again. I have rounded up the value to $90k (C) @$783. And disregarded cherished salvage.
