Half shaft cross reference?

Are there any other models with half shafts that have the same diameter, spline count, and length as an E9 ('70 2800CS)? While removing a stuck CV joint I may have damaged the end of a half shaft, so I'm looking for a replacement. New ones are rather expensive so I'm wondering if any of the relatively newer BMW's might have the same half shafts.
