Just a inquiry, Are these items rare or just dont work after a while or what?

I have been looking for a while ebay/ roadfly. It looks to me that these items are very hard to get a hold of. Any suggestions

e3, e9, and e12 are they the same?

Since were on the subject what else is extreamly hard to get a hold of ie.. sideloaders 4:11 lsd differental cooler ect..

I could very helpful, to us that are getting started.

rare stuff

Didn't Paul Cain's 3.8 CSi have headlight wiper/washers?

LSDs are available from 2800 CS and ? euro 6 Series.

Oil coolers come from aftermarket or M cars which had them.

That's my recollection, further use search function, eh.

Headlamp wash units will fit from E3 E9 E12 and early E24.
You can get them from a wrecker for reasonable prices, but mostly the motors are corroded and dead.
And new motors are expensive, 300€ for each.....

headlamp wash units

1)strictly on euro spec cars--none on US spec imports through Hoffman Motors

2) Paul Cains car started life as a US spec 3.0CS--final result approx 6 years later was highly customized--both in mechanicals and cosmetics including HWU from Euro source.

Yesterday i was in my sparepart-container
I have found a used HWU but unfortunately its not complete.
The wiperarms and blades are missing (part 11 and 12), and the cables are cut off (part 2), but i have both plugs to the motors.
I have part 5 (relais), both 9+10 (rings) and both 6 (motors)
Maybe Gunter has the arms, i can ask him, and i can check the motors today for function if anyone is interested.
But shipping to Amerika would be expensive, and the dollar is low...

It just so happens that last Sunday I helped a neighbor part out and dispose a mid-eighties Benz 500 SEC made for the Euro market. He has another, USA version, that I drive occasionally. Gets 10 mpg, and I live in the most expensive gas state in USA. Such is the price of paradise.

But... the parted car has headlight washer/wipers. Dunno if they work, the car was a non-runner when we got it. Engine would crank and fire with some gas down the throat. We figure it had sat for maybe six years.

Anyway... not only Bimmers had washer/wipers... and I imagine that the units from a Benz might be made to fit a Bimmer. There were two washer pumps on the reservoir, so like some BMW 6 series I think the second pump was for the headlight washer unit. So check those MB cars at the wrecker too!
