Hello all,

Looking to find out if the lights out of a e24 635 will fit an e9. Also can I get some feed back on a good headlight upgrade for a e9. Thank you to all. I do know that this topic has been discussed before just wanted to rehash it out. Thanks again Daniel

Yes, the H1-H4 Hellas are the same for E24 and E9. I believe the Cibies also work fine. I put Hellas in both the E24 and E9 to replace the DOT sealed beams. Not only the E9 was easier to replace but also are brighter on the E9 than E24, so much for progress...

Have more pictures if you need the blow by blow. My recommendations are:

- stay with the Hella basic bulbs, don't go crazy on wattage, after all there
are not even relays on the low beam circuit.
- make sure you order the right Hellas (US variant in my case)
- when the front grill is out take the chance to use "Mother's back to black"
product

I am forever the purveyor of bad taste... I upgraded my Hi/Low beams to the following H4 system:

Now I need some of that Forever Black stuff!

Is Mother's back to black basically the same as Forever Black?

It is an exterior and trim paste for all black surfaces. Not sure if it is chemically the same, the only information on the back label is: harmful or fatal if swallowed...

Lighting for blumax

blumax has Hella H-1 & H-4's with 80/100 & 100 watt lighting to see his way clearly in desert/mountain or backoads with no moonshine (pun intended) long ago installed separate wiring with own fuze to handle load--never a blink or problem since.

a blumax maintenance suggestion re black grills--thoroughly scrub all surfaces with mildly agressive sponge and brush using biodegradable citrus based cleaner--rinse and dry--if not fresh in appearance--tape off bright trim surround and shoot with Sem trim black--available at any auto paint store--will give a factory original look--in future will only need cleaning with long softer bristle brush and small amount of biodegradable cleaner to remove the bugs you spatter at speed--grillwork will appear as new.
