Header heat shield

The restoration shop never replaced the 2 heat shields on my Stahl header. The header has a ceramic thermal barrier coating,and looks better with the heat shields off.
Any thoughts on those heat shields still sold by Ireland Engrg.?

Those are not special, they are just one piece gaskets that are used on the 635's RM European has then for 9.12 each The 4 cyl guys have been using a similar one from a 318 They are used to help protect the ign wires from getting too hot from the header Do they really help??? guess so
