A good friend offered me a set of Stahl (sp?) headers for free. He said they were the "good" ones. Does the collective mind here think I should attempt to install these? I have a new W&N SS exhaust and the stock manifolds from the Euro 635 CSI engine that is the "building Block" of the car- 10:1 compression, Megasquirt, mild cam.

Thanks

Personally, I would put them on my car, but mine is bone stock at the moment. I assume they would breathe a little better than the stock 635 manifolds, and should probably marry with the SS exhaust. That's probably the only issue, and I don't know if any mods were made while fitting, or the condition of what he is offering. One of our more learned members WILL know more than me...but I'll bet a test fit is the only way to be sure. Your engine looks great, by the way.
If your friend needs a new friend, my wife has been wondering what I want for Xmas...

Long tubes? Depending on the diameter, they can be just right, too small or too big. IIRC, there are 3 sizes , 1 3/8, 1 1/2, 1.5+....?!!??
I had my set ceramic coated (by Jet-Hot ,10+ years ago) and have been very pleased.
They can be a 'dance' to install, one from the top, the other up from below. A friend would make install much easier and the jack stand location might be irritating...but if the car is on a lift..... ;)

i am going to put my new stahl header on my euro b34 10:1 compression engine. korman always used the standard 1 3/8" header with their stage 2 engines ... which produced 240 hp +/-. while i think the 635 stock manifolds are better than the coupe manifolds / downpipes ... i think the stahl is better.

when i had the same engine (‘81 m90) rebuilt running on motronic 1.3, korman sold me 1 3/8 stahls to help it breathe better. i’ve been very pleased.

speaking of that engine ( the one that I keep walking around ) when are we going to do something with that ??

hey Brendan - great to hear from you. the painter has actually started painting the car - YEAH. so hopefully at the beginning of the year. as soon as its painted its coming to you - before the trim goes on

I thought I would post a couple pics so maybe that might help with the advice. Thanks
