Headliner

Hi guys,

As part of it's 80s treatment, my '72 received a new headliner, in a beige cloth material

Anyone have a picture of the correct headliner and sun visors materials? Also, any idea where I could buy a new headliner?

Pricey! Pricey! Pricey! Five hundred big ones' worth. Carl Nelson still has the original headlining materials, I think.

When I bought mines from him about 6 months ago, Carl was down to his last few sets. The materials available from World upholstery or Gahh just do not match up with the original vinyl.

To the best of my knowledge, Bmw offered two types of the off white perforated vinyl materials. The early ones had the perforations in addition to some very faint and small crisscrossing lines. The later ones had simply the perforations only. This latter vinyl type is the version sold by Carl as the older style is NLA.

Hi!

I bought mine from World upholstery. Not a perfect match. Also, the zipper for the electric sunroof engine did not look like the original.

In addition, it is quite difficult to install the headliner. Furthermore, if you re-install the headliner - remember that the sun visors as well as the part that holds the sun visors should be re-installed to get a matching result
