Heater box to front vent

Anyone redo there heater to dash vent.
Here's mine

The inside is loose and needs to be replaced, no wonder I wasn't getting much air through the front vents.

If the box is good just remove the lining. I don't remember that stuff in mine but hey it's 43 years old.

I would clean it up and try to repair it with some fiberglass on the outside. There was a felt type material overlapping the edges of the opening similar to the material on the left and right side of your picture. This helped make a tight seal on the box.

Thanks for the info, I fit it back in and I do need the material on the edges to get it to fit right. I think i can reuse the material if i clean it up and spray glue it back in place.

Cleaned , but had a small crack on a corner. Easy fix.
