I was struggling with not being able to turn the heater fan on, runs at the fan with 12V and a good ground Jumpered directly from the battery. Since I’m upgrading the AC system, and I just pulled the evaporator to replace the expansion valve, seems like a good time to go down the rabbit hole. After some trouble shooting, it came down to the potentiometer style fan speed slide, this was confirmed by jumping it to ground, and the fan come on 100%.
the points mounted at the end of the wiper wasn’t flat on the sliding surface and specially across the coiled wires, the pivot point for the wiper is also showing corrosion built up which is not helping with a good ground And adding to the problem of grounding.
So here’s my questions
Anyone dealt with this?
where can I buy the pivot pin snap in retainer, looks like a one and done deal when removing the retaining washer.
