This is 1970, bmw 2800CS. This was given to me by my father-in-law was had ited. It's nineteen ninety-seven. In a timely father-in-law owned the car. He put very few miles on it. For the last several years. He is just kept it is garage as he never wanted to drive it in Oregon, where it rained. This is problematic because he lived in Oregon. To the best of our knowledge the sixty-nine thousand miles on the odometer is original mileage. We do not know for sure, but the car does not appear to have more miles on it, then it is reading.
The car was a gift from my father-in-law, though I have been contemplating keeping this car, they are really pretty cool. The body and the vehicle is very straight. The only physical damage is too small areas on the fenders where the tires rub from being oversized pictures are included of I was going to change back to the original rims which I also have but I am not sure that I want to take the sixteen inch rims off to switch over to the fourteen inch originals, after all I come from a hot red background. There is very little rust on the vehicle in the left front kick panel behind the front tire. There is an area approximately 1 and a half by one and a half inches where the pain is starting to bubble. At the request of some others. I went on a mission to find rest, it did find some more rust under the spare tire and by the pillar in the trunk. This was a rather small amount of rust, but I did take pictures of it and cleaned it. One of you was been mostly in the garage for years it has not had a tuneup in some time. It does not spoken still runs fine and I am ordering everything for a tuneup at this time. If already done, all for breaks, including hydraulics calipers will cylinders and hoses and I'm contemplating rebuilding the front suspension while I happen and possibly adding an electric fan to the vehicle.
I am ordering items in making changes, even if small on a daily basis for the most part in the end, the more I do, the more expensive the car will be.
1:1970 2800cs in amazingly good shape for its age.
2: the car was born on April fifth 1970 and was shipped to Uganda. A month later, on 6/12/1970.
3: I am unsure as to when the car came back I was able to trace this to the resources in our club.
4: the vehicle runs well and does not smoke.
5: the headliner, dashboard carpet and door panels, including the wood very good shape.
6: the seats are an OEM blue that have faded the front driver seat has been tearing beginning in the seat itself.
7: depending on house in the vehicle sells. I will even be replacing the front tires more appropriate size tires, or switching back over to the fourteen inch stock.
8: the blog punk stereo manual from Windows German style dashboard and the cloth interior were all options on this US-made vehicle, but rarely chosen.
9: there is a small leak in the power steering, and possibly in the transmission, which is working fine.
10: the trunk is clean. Aside from the smaller amount of rust and some cracks in the back side panels near the shock towers, again, there are pictures.
11: all the lights work with the exception of one burned-out break bulk that I'm eagerly awaiting.
12: my father-in-law disconnected the foreign in the windshield wipers. After putting on the sports style steering wheel, which may or may not come with the car. He stated that after putting the steering wheel on the horn would honk intermittently so he took out fuses, which in turn took out the windshield wipers in the horn, no more honking.. He never drove in the rain, so we do not need the wipers. I will be replacing the wheel and assume I will be fixing that issue also.
13: a disassembled the right rear window assembly to cleanup sluggish motor, but have put that on hold until I receive all new rubber for both rear wheels rear window assemblies. That is being ordered..
14: aside from the items that I mentioned, there is a crack in the right front side light, as normal maintenance. I would replace the smaller cooling system hoses and vacuum lines, but I will probably do that when I tuneup the car. I am considering switching over to electronic ignition.
I have truly been enjoying working on this as I was a mechanic for half of my adult life,, in the starting point in this vehicle is far better than any of the vast amount of projects I've done in the past,, so it is kind of fun, even though I'm not keeping (unless I can get my wife to change your mind, I still have hope).
After doing some research and speaking with people who know better than I on this vehicle. I am starting at an asking price of 23K, but the more work that I do, the more I will obviously have into it. The vehicles located into Temecula, California. Anybody wanting to see the vehicle can do so, but will most likely need to make prior arrangements as I work very long hours and quite often too many days.
