Hello from Bainbridge Island, WA, not a CS owner but definitely a follower of the marque and model. One of the sleekest, sexiest shapes ever put into sheet metal - an understated work of art by Paul Bracq.

I remember these cars when they were new - actually rode in several and drove one back in the day - even with US legal ride height and smog control Zenith carbs it was a joy to drive.

Here on Bainbridge Island, we have miles and miles of winding country roads with little traffic and wonderful scenery, so it's an ideal place to enjoy a vintage sports car. There used to be 2 CSs on the island, but I think they have moved away. I currently have a very nice 911SC.

Mark, those twisties need a Coupe with you behind the wheel. Perhaps the 2 CS owners will surface. Steve

Welcome aboard Mark! Good to see you here as well as on CR and FB ;-)
You know I have a CSi that I bought years ago from a guy in Gig Harbor....I wonder.............

IIRC, Art Wegweiser found after considerable research that the original coupe drawings were done by Michelotti, although I thought the finished design was credited to the same person who designed the Datsun 240Z: Albrecht von Goetz.

Many credit Wilhelm Hofmeister with the design and the rear window curve is known as the "Hofmeister kink". I won't get into who deserves the major share of the credit.

Paul Bracq as far as I know, had no involvement with the coupe; he designed (IIRC again) the M1 and the Turbo (?).

Hi Mark,

Your name is familiar. Did you used to mess around with Cits? I used to have an 11BL and a DS21.

To add to the confusion of who designed what, my understanding is that
Goertz did the 503 and 507
Guigiaro did the 3200CS while at Bertone
Michelotti did the 1600GT and 3000CS (ex-Glas)
Hoffmeister did the 2000CS and 2800CS

The key thing, hoverver, is that all of these cars a beautiful and Bangle wasn't around then to screw them up.
