Hello to all. I am new to the forum and want to thank rsporsche and stevehose for all their help and information in facilitating this purchase.
I will be posting photos of the car once I have it in my anxious little hands and doing lots of improvements.
I need a set of 16 inch Alpinas for the car and would also like to lower it. Any suggestions would be appreciated. Looks like it's been done here many times before........Thanks in advance.........Mark

Did you purchase the Siennabraun that was for sale in New Orleans? If so, I have the exact same color combo and year. I've got Carl Nelson's (La Jolla Independent) springs; I've had these on two coupes and like them a lot as the lower stance gives the car a more sporty/aggressive look. I also have 16in Alpinas too which look fantastic on these coupes. There is usually a set for sale on ebay (in fact, there is one being advertised now) but they are starting to go up in price compared to when I bought my set a few years ago. KSK Alpina is the "official" Alpina distributor in the U.S.; their sets go for over $3000, and Peter Sliskovich (Coupeking) sells knock-offs for about half that amount I think. I bought mine from a member on this board; they were in pretty rough shape, but I had them straightened and powdercoated for about $300 (this was done in coastal North Carolina where labor rates are pretty reasonable) and they turned out great! I would recommend the same approach: wait for a genuine set advertised here or on ebay that needs some refurbishing and is priced accordingly, then invest some money into fixing them up. That way, you have wheels that you know are genuine Alpinas, straight, look brand new, and maybe cost less than $2000 total; otherwise, if money is no object just get new ones from KSK, or if having the real thing doesn't matter, buy Peter's.

good luck,

Walter
