In Uruguay there are not more tan five or six of these CS models so I have a lot to learn from you about them.

Welcome, your car looks to be in very nice condition. Is that a headlight washer fluid container on the firewall behind the usual container?

Welcome!

Just came back from Uruguay as part of my Brazil World Cup trip.

There is still a 1980 E12 there in our family in Solanas, and a great mechanic in Maldonado in case you need one for your car. Your car looks great, though the pictures are probably Hungary not Uruguay.

Here is an older thread from my previous trip and a beautiful E9 that mechanic cares for in his shop. A pre-war 327 also being restored there but I could not convince the owner to sell it...

Hi Charru, I lived in Carrasco, Montevideo from March 2010 until September 2011, Fantastic place to live, Bought myself a 1970 2002 (CKD Assembled in Uruguay) and started restoring it but didn't get it finished before we had to leave, There were a lot of interesting BMW's there I visited a Panel shop who were restoring a 600 Isetta and I think a 327, also delt with Daniel Rodrigas who owned PT Garage, Daniel restored a lot of old BMW's. Had a great time there!!

Hello Steve.Yes it is .The headlight washers are still in the trunk waiting to be fixed.
It´s ten days since it arrived and up to now I just have changed fluids, filters, repaired the electro vent, and put its original steering Wheel.
We are knowing each other jeje

Lovely Polaris coupe, looks quite original and untouched. Keep those headlight washers locked up. I have searched for years for some. Bought an odd lot of pieces but most turned out to be for another BMW model and do not fit. A guy was selling s complete set but his lowest price to me was $1600. I passed. If you need any pieces shoot me an email and I might have them. You can PM me or [email protected]

You were fortunate Wazza,Carrasco is a very nice place to live.
All 2002 , e21, some e30,and some e36 that came to Uruguay were assembled here. Because of this their VIN numbers are not registered internaitonally. Those were good times. Now we hardly can assemble a chinese car.Anyway we still love these all models and there is also a "BMW car club Uruguay"which only accept members whose cars are in original condition .In its fórum you can find great posts of restoring Works.

Thank you Arde.I see you had a good time there at Punta del Este, even though the sea wáter on these days is very cold!!I work in Punta del Este during the summer on a tender which basically takes cruiser's passengers from the ship to the port and vice versa.
You are right , the pictures are from Hungary .I sent some cash in advance and then I went to Budapest to check and complete the purchase.

You should put it on your list to convert to a 4/5spd,a good working auto is what I had and these cars need a clutch! Alot more fun to drive when shifting.
