I looked up this link:

http://www.bmwcsregistry.org/Technical/dash_clock.html

To see how to disassemble my instrument gauge clock. The clock is a VDO/Kienzle, but after reading the instructions a few things caught my attention. The removable back of my clock is white plastic not metal and I only found two nuts on the back and was unable to find the third nut under the green warranty seal (there was no green warranty seal only a white one with red letters). Does anyone have any experience with this, do I have a different model than the standard clock?

It's September 2017, over 10 years since the last post and both links above are dead. However, there's hope from our VW brothers, sadly no pictures: https://www.thesamba.com/vw/archives/info/kienzle_clock_repair/Kienzle_Clock_Repair.pdf

And this one with pictures, for both "early" Kienzle and "late-r" VDO clocks from the VW/Porsche 914 guys: http://www.pelicanparts.com/techarticles/mult_vdo_clock_repair/mult_vdo_clock_repair.htm

and from some volvo guys:

e9coupe.com no longer has clock repair in the Technical section. I suppose we're to figure it out from other cars? Something belongs in the Tech section, even if it's only link to the articles elsewhere.

I copied (some) parts of the tech section a few years ago. If someone needs it I have a PDF on the removal and repair of the clock. send me a PM and i'll email it. Or if there is a location (?) I can upload the PDF.
