help identify these two handbrake boots

hi

while in germany, i found a pre-owned handbrake boot, the difference with my original boot is that this new old one is much more texturized, it has a continous surface of little grains

the one left side is the one that i recently found, the right side is the one that was in my coupe, flat and smooth surface

can anyone tell me what is the difference ?, which is older / original ...?

Smooth is original, pebbly finish is current BMW offering.
