Help Identifying this engine

I recently bought a bunch of parts and this engine was included. Anyone knowledgeable in decoding the castings?
I done see a lot of smog stuff on it, but not really sure what to look for.

Rather than messing with the serial numbers, grab the VIN and plug it into realoem. That will give you the year and make, and ultimately the motor. It’s not e3/e9 era. It’s likely from an e12 or early e24.

The harmonic balancer says 530i and it is an automatic and looks like l-jet.
