Hi

Relatively recent engine and trans swap (m30b34 & 265) and now the clutch pedal is not holding pressure. I’m not sure how to diagnose if it is:
A) air in the system (I guess I should just bleed it and then i’d know!) - can someone point me in the direction of a guide to bleed the clutch circuit?
B) faulty master cylinder
C) faulty slave cylinder

Can anyone give me some tips/guide/pointers on how to diagnose the issue?

Thanks in advance for any assistance!

Andy

I will speak based on E24 experience, not knowing if it applies here, and since my E9 is an automatic. Brake fluid reservoir has a sidehole that feeds to clutch, if any leak, fluid drains down until sidehole is exposed. This way you still have brakes. Fluid on ground under clutch slave? Probe around floor near clutch, under the carpet for dampness. Yes, detach slave and (on E24 anyway), flip upside down so nipple is nondependent and bleed it.

Do the E9's have problems with fracturing of the clutch brackets like the E24's?
