help, question about the use of glycerin

hello, i am trying to recover and renovate and refresh some NOS rubber parts

i have read about using a dilution of glycerin in destillated water 25/75

results seem to be good in wheels, but i am not usre about counterindications

anyone knows or have heard about second bad effects of the use of this mixture ?

i intend to use in rubbers of window, door, hoses,...

Glycerin is recommended in the owners manual to use on rubber. I don't have any experience with it in today's world of care care options.

Silicon?

Would a silicon spray help refresh old rubber? it seems to have helped with makinbg new rubber look good?
I would not recommend WD40 style oils as despite many people telling that they work great on rubber, I think that they wreck it. A window fitter wrecked my house window seals with WD40.

I've used silicon grease, specifically Chemplex 710, to refresh rubber and more importantly preserve it. Work it in with your fingers and you can almost see the rubber drinking it in. Wipe off excess and it makes rubber look good as new. It's a also a dielectric grease to use on electrical terminals and prevent corrosion. A tube lasts a very long time.

I find leather conditioner is the best product for both plastic and rubber!
