I've removed 8 bolts from the bellhousing - are there any more? It doesn't want to budge - any advice - I don't want to f@$% it up now. Do I pry it or hit it or what?

5 hours to get to this point from raising it on stands to these nuts. Tranny out.

Thanks.

Just stuck.

Large scewdriver as a wedge.

2 x 4 and and hammer.

Spray your penetrant dejour.

Jack and a piece of wood.

It'll come loose. Probably first time ever in your case.:-D

I will watch the liquid wrench work as I have my coctail(s).

Phase 2 bellhousing, clutch, flywheel, and pilot bearing removal tomorrow. Then flywheel to machine shop.

Phase 1 complete - tranny shifter seal replaced (I botched it the first time).

It's too swelteringly hot here to drive it so I figured I'd do some maintenance.

Which tranny is this?
Did you remove the slave?
Gently pry at the bottom with a big screwdriver at the flywheel- watch for a stuck side to show a bolt still in.
2 13mm bolts at top
2 17mm bolts top left
1 17mm left middle for hose bracket
1 17 mm bottom left
1 17 mm bottom right
1 13 mm mid right

Getrag 4 speed.

If I pry at the bottom with my wrecking bar it only seems to bend the thin metal plate behind it. Also difficult to get a hammer or other object on it to hit from the front but will try the pry technique again tonorrow.

Slave is off. As are 8 bolts but will check your list with those lying under the engine. Don't recall that many 17mm bolts. Thanks for your help.

Chris is right - 3 10mm bolts have to come off. 1 bolt is longer and holds it all together. Plate comes off

Got it - I had only taken the one long one off thinking the other 2 (they are 13mm) weren't holdng it on, and I missed a 17mm hidden up top. Thanks guys - onward to clutch, pilot bearing, and flywheel removal.
