hi,

i have seen these two rubber profiles several times in the schematic drawings, without knowing where they are supposed to be installed in our cars

do you know where they settle ?

do you have a photo of them on the car ? do they belong to the door frame or to the door itself

i am trying to improve noise tightness and air tightness

regards

They are the vinyl horitzonal strips that sit behind the chrome trims on the A & B posts. I've just spent the weekend replacing mine before the dash goes back in...

Sorry DeQ - mixing up my horizontal with vertical there. They are the vertical strips

Christopher, yes you told me about them, but these ones are rubber and pretty thick (in diameter), and the ones in my car are vynil

are they the same ?
are they supposed to be wrapped up in vynil ?

regards

Yes, the originals are in vinyl. I had bought some replacements from Germany in rubber, but these were not usuable as the material, profile, and the way the top would finish is completely different. However it is easy enough to replicate the original trim, as it's just vinyl folded over a hollow rubber tube (for the A&B posts) and an electrical wire (for the doors). Thankfully my dear mother is an ace with the sewing machine, and as i had some spare vinyl to hand she knocked me out a set in a couple of hours. Well worth doing as the trims particularly on the B posts had been scuffed quite a bit over time. I'll take some images of next weekend and mail over to you

Hi Guys -- If you could post those images in the car, I would appreciate it.
