Hi,

I recently received by truck lock back from being rekeyed and having trouble reinstalling.

It seems the lock mechanism that pushes inwards to the truck to open the lid isn't being kept in the cylinder housing for the lock. See the photo of the whole lock assembly removed from the car. I have the "nut", which seems in good shape. After looking online here I noticed photos of other trunk locks that seem to have a part holding the "washer" end of the lock in the mechanism / cylinder. See the edited third photo, I have highlighted with a red circle what seems to be what I am missing - what is that?? The red arrows are pointing to what I am calling the "washer".

Thanks for setting me straight - what am I missing??

Any chance if not installed properly, the clip can pop off meaning, if ChasC got it by mail, it may have popped out and be in the shipping box!

I have a huge assortment of SS C-clips just for stuff like this.

Ah, I was thinking it could be c clip!!

Awesome - that is an easy fix!

Thanks for the insights!!

To close the loop on this, I looked at a couple photos I took of the lock BEFORE removing it originally ... it appears as though the c-clip was missing to begin with.

E9s are like a box of chocolates ...
