Help - Trying to Identify an M30 Motor

I need some help. I'm trying to find out what year and make this M30 motor came out of. The vin # 41584218 below the vin is has another set of numbers as follows # 34 6K B.

Does anyone know? Is this late of early? Thanks for the help..

This number makes no sense to me offhand

Is this a carburated engine, or injected . .

What does the engine have for large numbers on the block, below cylinders 2-3 on the left side.
There should be a 3.0 3.3 or 3.5 in the casting

What number are on the cylinderhead for production dates?

Not all the stamped in numbers on the flat surface above the starter match chassis serial numbers.

Thanks for responding. 90 for a 7 1 is stamped in the head. So I guess its a late model...

Its also an injected motor
I don't see the 3.0 or 3.5 in the casting. I was told it was a 3.5

The VIN is stamped on a flat at the rear of the engine directly next to the starter. It will be 7 digits, no more, no less.

Heads get swapped with regularity, you'll learn next to nothing of value about the engine from the markings on the head.

If you look on the intake side of the block, below the carbs, there will be numbers cast on the block, about 2.5 inches tall. If you cannot find them, the engine is an early 2.8.

It is neither the early nor late 3.5 m90 block

I have an issue with trying to identify what M30 engine I have in my 1973 3.0CS Vin 2240909 . I have read all these treads but still can't figure out what I have ? There is no numbers on the block above the starter that I can find. I have wired brushed it , used a magnifying glass and super bright light but can't find anything stamped. The head has an 82 stamp and a 5 to the right of it . towards the back the head has 1 277 358. The block be below has 3.0 / 3.3 stamped. on the exhaust side there is 27 E82 and towards the front of the block is 126980Y. Any ideas or help greatly appreciated.

Block casting date appears to be May (E) 27, 1982.

I would start a new thread yes. Looking at the pictures is confusing, particularly since the code on the head of your engine is the same as the code posted by Bboy in post number 8 in April of 2020.

The numbers on our engine don't correspond to any of the reference materials I have.
