Help with extra Strengthening.

Can anybody please help with the source of the extra strengthening in my E9, I purchased the car as a parts car around 2006 in New Zealand, it was imported from Japan to be restored and they decided it was too far gone to restore, I was told at the time that it was an Alpina build!
There is Extra Beams in the doors and and strengthening in front of the spare wheel well and fuel tank and also where the rear bumper mounts. Here is the link to pictures on Flicker.

W&N sells a lot of repair metal. Shipping I bet would be crazy, but you never know. Hope there's an outfit in NZ where you can dip that car in acid/caustic solution. Sand-blasting alone won't get rid of all the hidden rust. Be sure to cut off the fenders for access to all those areas that I'm sure will need repair.

Hope you got the car for a song. I see many $$$ ahead.
 
This looks like my car before I started work on it. The extra strengthening was plates of metal welded over rusty holes.

Walloth & Nesch in Germany have most of the bits you will need as the other poster say. I replace the middle of the car including the frame rails so extended these to the rear seats and tied them into the the rear subframe mounts. It seems the correct thing to stop the whippy nature of the rear.

Then we felt that the lateral twist could be reduced if we tied to two extended frame rails together below the rear seats. More metal to haul around, but hopefully stiffer. We haven't run it yet so the proof of this pudding will be in the eating.

I have photo's which I was saving for the big 'reveal' but you are probably some way off that part.
 
Oh - and don't be put off just 'cos the job is difficult/costly. It doesn't have to cost the earth so long as you don't want a concours car, and the economics of raising these from the dead is improving all the time.

A significant number here s****** about hidden rust and 'parts cars' and "good luck with THAT one" type comments, but my advice would be to go for it. The prices are going up and look set to increase further (strangely, another topic which some people here bemoan)
 
Sorry - we have a UK word which means to slyly laugh behind ones hands, but one component of that word is offensive. Clever software.

Just as well I don't live in S****horpe.
 
Hi Guys, the Silver / Blue car is purely for parts! If you scroll through the pictures the Red car (originally Inka) is the Restoration Project, The Silver car is way to far gone to restore but it does have a lot of usable panels and Parts, My Question is more about the Strengthening Panels in the Trunk and What look like Impact Beams in the Doors! They are press formed Panels and I believe they may be of Alpina Origin!
 
These cars are now in Canada as I moved here 5 months ago! I have bought a few parts off Walloth & Ness over the years but I have better contacts and prices buying Genuine BMW.
As for cost of silver car I paid about $1000 US in 2006! I think i will get my money back ok!
 
I think W&N has a sale through February. I'm going to remove my rocker covers this week to inspect and run a camera down them. I assume that they need to be replaced, but I need to stop buying parts without verifying first. :D I wonder if shipping two sets to the same address would be significantly less money. I'm not that far from you...

Could the reinforcements in the boot be for a tow-bar fitment?

Cannot explain the door reinforcement - the metal looks too low to be intrusion bars.
