I think the seller is a frustrated novelist.
Yes - the car is in very nice shape... But you'd think this car could pump its own gas and clean its own windshield with the (IMO) over the top prose the seller has commented with on their listing.

I was going to chime in on the auction on the sellers response to registering this car in CA.
I may do so later on -but will sit on the sidelines for now.

Cheers!

The seller spent 6 years restoring the car after one year of driving before starting this project. I tried to post the question about why, after all of the work done, he's selling the finished car.
BaT would not post the question.

This is a very nice looking coupe. The work done and attention to detail is great. Beautiful in Fjord. As it is a CSi it is unusual to have leather seats, A/C and power windows all around, so perhaps added by a prior owner or maybe came this way? Hope the seller provides greater detail on the people that did all of the work on the car, especially the body work. This car had a LOT of rust and lots of new panel work and body restoration so hope it was all done well and the car is structurally sound. As far as selling it after all of the heavy lifting has been done, perhaps the time involved took the wind out of his sails a bit and he lost interest? After all is said and done and finally getting the car back, I would be driving and showing the car. But that’s just me. It will be interesting to see where this one ends up.

I'm the opposite. Like Erik, the project is the hobby for me. Once I finish a car, I'm dreaming about my next project and generally have to sell the finished one to finance the next. I don't get much entertainment from the ownership part of the hobby.

Good points from you and Erik. The seller is quite passionate about his coupe and he’s likely on to the next project after this sells.

As long as it makes you happy, either approach or a combo works! As for me, I am not all that handy and am a former P-Car amateur racer , so I would rather buy someone's already restored great work and drive the snot out of it! :)
