Hello all,

My project 3.0 CS has been painted and now I need to ship it from Petaluma, CA to Carl Nelson's shop in La Jolla, CA for an upgrade to 3.5L, fuel injection, and 5spd. Does anyone out there know of a safe, quick, and trustworthy car transport company?

Also, now that the exterior is shiny and new, the interior looks really bad. Does anyone know of a good auto upholsterer in the Washington DC area?

thanks in advance,

Walter

Yo, Walter, how 'bout using the search function?

car transport is a subject that comes up from time to time.

Upholstery also...

Congratulations Walter!

I've used Intercity Lines and was very pleased. They were absolutely professional. Are you cominG out to visit the car at LJI?

I am not sure if they do this without some kind of inside connection, but FedEx transports cars. It was mentioned in the January 2006 Automobile magazine, in the article on the British reliability run.

I recently used Fedex to ship a '71 CS from CA to the DC area. This cost about $1200. Others were less expensive but Fedex is easy, will do door to door, and they accept major credit cards. It took 3 weeks but normally they are about 10-14 days - the truck broke down in my case causing a delay.

I am looking to get my interior done in the DC area too. I got a lead on a guy in Rockville that I plan to visit in the next week or so. If no one leaves better advice I'll get back and let you know what I learn.
