Does any one have a set (or just a couple) of the plastic set screws that hold the push pad to the horn assembly? I have the "school bus" giant diameter version. These appear to be NLA and I'm hard pressed to figure out a substitute. The only ones I've seen are metal set screws and I dont think that will do. I'm assuming that they screw into the pad and then pushed thru the chrome plate as the pad is threaded but the plate is not. Steel set screws would not flex enough to push thru the plate.

Any ideas?

Ditto!

I try to make some with a die and some nylon tube. Also, the mercedes petri set screws are very similar. I don't know if you can get those separately or not, I just started to look into it. I'll measure the diameter to see if they are the same.

They are 10mm diameter with 10x1.0 threads. I went to Ace Hardward at lunch (the restorers savior!). A pair of plastic toilet hold down bolts are almost a perfect match. The clerk suggested wrapping the threaded part in a few layers of Saran Wrap to get the diameter right then hit it with a heat gun to solidify the Saran Wrap. Then for the Allen key hole heat up a wrench and plunge it into the plastic end. Ever heard of doing this?

Post up with the Merc P/N if you find it!
