How do I get this out?

This front control arm bush in the subframe. Cut it? Got new ones.

Assume I need a press to get the new ones in?

There are posts on this, you need threaded rod with the right sized washer in back to fit through the frame hole but still grab the bushing and a piece of pipe on the front large enough to accept the bushiing but stay in place on the frame, then tighten a nut in front to pull it out into the pipe. Install is reverse, use some soap or something to help it in. I suppose it could be cut or melted out but you'll still need the above to get it in.

Yeah, I skipped those when I did my front suspension. The bushings looked good, I couldn't find the right kind of tool at the rental place, and it looked like getting the old bushing out was going to be a major pain.

I will get to it at some point...

Bushing

Easy as anything, this is how we would do at the dealership and this is how I still do it. Stick a big heavy screwdriver or similiar into the center hole of the bushing from the front and just pry / twist down wards and it will pop out, doesn't matter what happens to the old, you should be throwing it away once you are done. Use a piece of heavy ready rod ( has to fit thru center hole of bushing ) with either large sockets and washers or a piece of pipe and use that to draw the new bushing in, use some sort of lubricant to help slide the new one in. I use a producr=t from Wurth which is a silicone paste, works great on all things rubber ( door seals, grommets etc. )

Should only take about 15 min a side once the rod is out.

Take the zee bar that goes in it and stick it back in the hole from the front and twist left and right. It pops right out. I use a dolly and a round tube to jack it in. Gun it in, takes a couple minutes a side.

sfdon ... this is actually what I ended up doing yesterday. It popped right out. First one I launched myself across the garage when it came free. Good times!!!

Parts are off to the powder coater now.
