I found this Frankfurt (7635421011 ) in the trunk of my 2002.

WOndering how would restore the clear face plate?

Would love it to look like this someday:

Also, any idea what the 8-pin in the back is for? 6-pin is for accessory input from what I understand (cassette).

For getting the clear face plate there are pastes/compounds available to polish. Like the ones for mobiles.
Th 8 pin jack is for external sources like a casette in the past. Could be useful to connect a nowadays source to the old radio.
In a next step I would test the radio. Electronic components are aging. Especially capacitors with electolyte are loosing their capacity; the whole tuning section should be retuned (with special equipment and knowledge). Therefore i would try to look how it works first.
So; if alone the audio part would work you can use it as amplifier (with limited capability compared to nowadays performance).
Maybe you can even find somebody in the US who can etune the radio ? :)

Plastic polish should help return that to some semblance of clarity & minimize the scratches.

For seamless Bluetooth integration buy this 8-pin unit, I can verify it works great.

or this...

I have these radioparts available for your radio

The first step is to run fused 12v power to the radio. You can test the tuner without an antenna but it certainly helps. You need to run power to the positive tab, ground to the tab on the chassis, and ground to the antenna. You also want to ensure that it has speakers plugged in.

The radio should pickup seattle stations quite well, even without the antenna.

Once that test is done, you can remove the black plastic fascia. Leave that little screw on the tuner face alone. Once the fascia is off
you can remove the clear plastic tuner face.

If the tuner isn’t illuminated you can replace the bulb. There is a steel tuner cage that unscrews. You then need to remove the backside of the tuner face, and work gently around the orange dial. Crank the tuner all the way up or down to get it out of the way of the bulb.

I use a 12v DC converter box. They are about $100 on amazon. Also good for testing other stuff or for zinc plating.

I’m still waiting on a lightbulb for this Becker Mexico Cassette:

i agree

most times simply replacing capacitors make a big difference, i do have experience in hifi gear, it is easy once you have a little experience in soldering

Agree. First to check overall condition.

As it was mentioned earlier, plastic, front plates and knobs can still be found (used or even NOS) but damaged electronics (e.g. someone was trying to "improve" the reception or sound might be to expensive and can do the radio just donor for better one.

There is still a lot of old Blaupunkts around. Some are not very cheap but - as with the old cars - restoration might be more expensive than looking for a nice piece.

Let us know once you will test it
