Hi guys, seller wants €800 euros plus it will cost me €150 to ship to the UK. How much should I pay for a brand new panel (genuine BMW / unused).

Any pointers appreciated - Would an offer of €650 be insulting?

Thoughts?

call your dealer and get a QUOTE, then offer 50% of that and split ship cost

according to Penskeparts.com (bmw dealer), the list price in the US is $1,706.81. which means that you can buy it from some dealers for $1,536.13 to $1,365.45 ... depending on the applicable bmwcca discount of 10% to 20%. the hood weighs 47.25 lbs. not sure what the price in the EU region is for parts.

btw, Real OEM lists the hood as part #41611817984 $1,479.67.

Walloth & Nesch, Germany list a bonnet for 1260.20 Euros. (Part no A41 61 1 817 984)

Delivery from them to the UK is normally reasonable.

Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't have thrown away a perfectly good used hood last month.

Do what I did, ask a friend to lend you his coupe, purchase 4 yards of carbon fiber, put a
heavy layer of mold release on the hood and apply four layers carbon fiber using high temp
epoxy. When it cures, remove it and clean up your friend's hood. Remove the skin from
your hood and a use auto-body epoxy to attach it to your frame. Trim, paint and enjoy
a lighter coup. :) Should cost less then $200.00. I also did the same for my trunk.

I have 2 coups, so I borrowed my other one :) Pictures requested, pictures posted.

DJ if it's new thats not too bad , put it this way if he has anymore I will buy the other one. Out of interest where does it have to be shipped from as I am heading across the channel next week and if it's near where I am going I can pick it up and bring it back.
